Winter

Winter shows her veiled face

With the fragrant mist of fall

And her foe, the sun, has seen brighter days

In the merry months before.

Yet in one silent, contemplative sigh,

The comfort of the summer

Is found cold with chill, a breath of time

Her ever-cheating lover.

What man may say

Will never last

Thought it’s funny now to say it,

But there are those

Who’ve taken years

To ever contemplate it.

Winter
